Instructor

Grace Ann Frandson danced in Ames for 8 years, where she was a Dancenter Dancer under the instruction of Maureen McGrath. She then transitioned to School of Classical Ballet and Dance (SCBD) in Des Moines to study classical ballet technique in 2022. With SCBD, she has performed roles in Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and The Nutcracker ballets, including Enchanted Rose Pas de Deux, Princess Alice Pas de Deux, and Center Dew Pas de Deux. She has also performed in Iowa State’s Nutcracker since 2017 and ISU’s Nutcracker + STEM from 2021-2025. 

In addition to performance opportunities, Grace Ann has also competed at ballet competitions, placing in the Top 24 for the Senior Classical Solo category at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), as well as reaching YAGP and Universal Ballet Competition (UBC) Finals for contemporary in 2025. Through these, she has received multiple scholarships for summer intensives and year-long programs. 

Currently, Grace Ann is a trainee with Ballet Des Moines and a freshman at Iowa State majoring in Chemistry.
