Ballet classes offer a structured curriculum designed to cultivate technical advancement, strength, and artistry in an environment that values encouragement, effort, and safe progression. Students will be introduced to the proper etiquette of the ballet classroom. Instructors will follow a curriculum to train the dancers with fundamental skills appropriate to each level. Dancers will build proficiency in these pre-established skills in order to advance. Students will explore both contemporary and classical ballet styles. The ballet program emphasizes strong foundational elements that translate across every dance discipline.
Pointe will be included in all ballet classes beginning with Level 2. Dancers will be evaluated once a season to determine readiness for pointe training. Pointe training begins when dancers are developmentally and technically prepared, based on instructor assessment. Each dancer develops at an individual pace, so there is no predetermined age for beginning pointe. Our priority is to ensure every dancer is physically prepared to begin pointe training safely and successfully. All dancers will participate in the pointe section of class to ensure dancers are getting the same training. Footwear will be determined at the time of evaluation, with dancers participating in either ballet slippers or pointe shoes.
Ages 8+, levels 1-5, recital option available. Ballet Technique classes are non-recital.
